Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Stang Spartans vs. Westport Wildcats

The Bishop Stang Spartans will square off against the Westport Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Bishop Stang's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Bishop Stang came up short against St. Mary's on Friday, falling 79-57. Bishop Stang hasn't had much luck with St. Mary's recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, on FridayWestport's undefeated season almost came to an end. They had just enough and edged Belmont out 45-43. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-31), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Westport's victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1. As for Bishop Stang, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Bishop Stang strolled past Westport when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 58-41. Will Bishop Stang repeat their success, or does Westport have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
