Recap: Midland Valley Mustangs vs. South Aiken Thoroughbreds
The Midland Valley Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 60-36 defeat at the hands of South Aiken. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Midland Valley has suffered against South Aiken since January 29, 2021.
South Aiken's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sumara Williams led the charge by scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zanayia Harrison, who scored 14 points.
Midland Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for South Aiken, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.
Midland Valley will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Augusta at 6:00 p.m. North Augusta is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for South Aiken, they will square off against Aiken at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aiken will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
