El Capitan's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Page on Friday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Red Mesa Redskins. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Aryck Hammon made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. El Capitan is undefeated when Hammon allows two or fewer earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Hammon was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Paul Woods was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Avery Hammon was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

El Capitan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Red Mesa only posted a batting average of .231.

El Capitan pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Red Mesa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

El Capitan will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Redskins: the pair will be back at it again later today.
