Soccer Recap: Waukegan Comes Up Short

Waukegan lost against Stevenson back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Waukegan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Stevenson are ranked 22nd).

Waukegan's goal came courtesy of Oswaldo Lopez, who's now up to two this season.

Waukegan's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3-1. As for Stevenson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Waukegan will challenge Glenbrook South at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Stevenson, they will host Grayslake Central at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
