Baseball Recap: La Mirada Takes a Loss

La Mirada fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Gahr on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Gladiators, falling 10-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Matadores, who until this contest were averaging 3.52 runs allowed.

La Mirada got a good showing from Nathaniel Maldonado, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, La Mirada saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Jeon, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

La Mirada's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Gahr, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

While La Mirada had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
