The Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish will head out on the road to square off against the Encinal Jets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over Lowell. The Fightin' Irish haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kaylen Edora made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory let Wanda Wilson and Sydney Endo run wild. Wilson went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Endo scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Endo posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Francesca Moralejo also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Encinal lost a heartbreaker to Bishop O'Dowd when they met back in April of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Encinal fell 9-4 to Bishop O'Dowd. The Jets have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.
Encinal saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Tran, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another was Jaydah Tautalatasi - Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Encinal's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Encinal, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory continue to outrun the ball?
