Baseball Recap: Galt's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Amador, Galt was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Argonaut Mustangs a 1-0 shutout. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Nick Reid's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Galt is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Galt's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jared Russell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Galt's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Argonaut, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Galt will have a chance to go back-to-back against Argonaut: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
