Basketball Game Preview: Northside Vikings vs. Cave Spring Knights

The Northside Vikings will head out to face off against the Cave Spring Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Northside earned a 61-50 win over Salem. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Spartans are ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Cave Spring made off with a 44-43 victory over Hidden Valley. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Cave Spring now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Northside, their record is now 11-1.

Northside strolled past Cave Spring in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 80-66. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northside since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
