Baseball Recap: Queen Creek Drops Highest Score of Season Against Desert Ridge

Queen Creek extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 16-6 in the process. They blew past the Desert Ridge Jaguars 18-1. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cody Cooper looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

On the hitting side, Jet Berry and Tait Reynolds did most of the damage at the plate: Berry went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Reynolds went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Reynolds has posted since back in March. Jordan Ransom was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Queen Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

As for Desert Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since March 13th.

On Desert Ridge's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Queen Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jaguars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
