On Friday, West-Oak faced Belton-Honea Path in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The West-Oak Warriors took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Belton-Honea Path Bears. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Abi Blackwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West-Oak saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassie Stoltzfus, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, West-Oak fell to 5-1. As for Belton-Honea Path, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West-Oak will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Walhalla at 6:00 p.m. on March 28th. As for Belton-Honea Path, they will take on Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
