Basketball Recap: Thompson's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Pell City last Tuesday, Thompson came back down to earth. The Thompson Warriors fell to the Cullman Bearcats 60-56. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Bearcats are ranked ninth).

With the defeat, Thompson broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for Cullman, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Thompson will welcome Pinson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pinson Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season. As for Cullman, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cullman Bearcats face off against the Red Bay Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
