Basketball Recap: Wharton Takes a Loss

Wharton lost against Bay City back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wharton Tigers came up short against the Bay City Blackcats, falling 60-37. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Khylee Perry continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bay City, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Perry's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacayla Eaton, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Wharton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Bay City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-9.

Wharton will be playing at home against Brazosport at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brazosport has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bay City, they will head out to take on Needville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bay City is facing Needville at the right time seeing as Needville is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
