Basketball Recap: Benicia Comes Up Short

Benicia lost against Bishop O'Dowd back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Benicia Panthers were dealt a 73-40 defeat at the hands of the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Dragons are ranked 150th).

This is the second loss in a row for Benicia and nudges their season record down to 11-10. As for Bishop O'Dowd, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Benicia Panthers duke it out with the Campolindo Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop O'Dowd has already played their next match (against Berkeley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
