Softball Recap: Union County Braves vs. Evansville Harrison Warriors

Union County scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past the Evansville Harrison Warriors 20-5. The result was nothing new for Union County, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Cadence Coker looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Union County got a massive performance out of Audrey Staley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Staley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Tackett, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

On Evansville Harrison's side, Abby Mattingly was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with a home run. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mackey, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

The win (which was Union County's third in a row) raised their record to 14-12. As for Evansville Harrison, they dropped their record down to 6-14 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.
