Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakota Tech). They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 91-22 blowout they got against the Hot Springs Bison. The Tatanka have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Shania Ferguson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11 for 19 on her way to 28 points in addition to five assists and five steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzie Robinson, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 15 points along with seven assists and seven steals.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Lakota Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.
Lakota Tech's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Hot Springs, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Lakota Tech will be playing in front of their home fans against Chadron at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hot Springs has already played their next game, a 49-10 loss against Spearfish on the 4th.
