The Middle Park Panthers will take on the Summit Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middle Park is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
While Middle Park's victory against Jefferson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Saints 3-2.
Wyatt Guthrie made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Guthrie was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Noah Hunter looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
Back at the plate, Middle Park let Cruze Hanson and Joseph Gallegos run wild. Hanson went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Gallegos got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Gallegos has posted since back in April of 2024. Alexander Riesberg also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Summit made easy work of Eagle Valley on Saturday and carried off a 16-3 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.
Matty Misch was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Hogan Tobias, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Summit has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Middle Park, they pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Middle Park has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Summit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Middle Park couldn't quite finish off Summit in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 and fell 6-4. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
