Baseball Recap: Shelby County Comes Up Short

Shelby County came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bayside Academy Admirals, falling 9-3.

Shelby County got a good showing from Hunter Dailey, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit.

At the plate, Shelby County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Aderholt, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI. The dominant performance gave Aderholt a new career-high in RBI.

Shelby County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bayside Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Shelby County is taking a road trip to face off against Daphne at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bayside Academy, they will face off against Jackson County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Jackson County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
