Basketball Recap: City of Life Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Gulf Coast HEAT

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but City of Life Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 73-57 victory over Gulf Coast HEAT.

Jahkeema King was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jafet Arroyo Colon, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Gulf Coast HEAT still got an impressive performance from Westin Lacey, who went 9-for-16 en route to 29 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cayden Bosso, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

City of Life Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Coming up, City of Life Christian Academy will challenge Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Victory Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully City of Life Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Gulf Coast HEAT does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
