Zuni had lost seven straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-18 to make it eight. They lost 13-3 to the Navajo Prep Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Thunderbirds' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
As for Navajo Prep, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-5. Considering they have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For Navajo Prep's part, they let Jazmine Deswood and Isabella Yazzie run wild. Deswood went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Yazzie went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Shianne Begay was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
