Basketball Recap: Broadway Takes a Loss

After flying high against Staunton last Thursday, Broadway came back down to earth. The Broadway Gobblers received a blow on Friday as they fell 53-37 to the Spotswood Trailblazers. The Gobblers haven't had much luck with the Trailblazers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Broadway's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Spotswood, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Broadway and Spotswood should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Broadway (ranked 71st) will meet William Monroe (ranked 287th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Spotswood will take on Floyd County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday up 253 places (28 vs. 281).
