Softball Recap: Colman-Egan C-E Hawks vs. Deuel Cardinals

Colman-Egan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell just short of the Deuel Cardinals by a score of 9-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Colman-Egan of the 15-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

For Deuel's part, Katrina Hagberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those seven innings set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Rylynn Streich was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Colman-Egan will challenge Milbank at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deuel, they will head out on the road to face off against Sisseton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Deuel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
