Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Alaina Weingart and Carley Niese Lead Highland to Victory

Highland won the last time they faced Medina and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hornets put the hurt on the Battling Bees with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

While Highland won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 26-24, 25-15.

Leading Highland to victory were Carley Niese and Alaina Weingart. Niese had 23 digs and six aces, while Weingart had eight digs. What's more, Niese also posted a 66.7% hitting percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in September of 2024.

The victory got Highland back to even at 2-2. As for Medina, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Highland will welcome Aurora at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Hornets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Medina, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against North Ridgeville on the 23rd.
