Softball Recap: Great Falls Bison vs. Capital Bruins
Great Falls had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Capital Bruins, falling 8-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bison of the 14-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
Great Falls saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinslee Reeves, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run. Those doubles marked the first that Reeves has hit this season. Another was Ava Newmack, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
As for Capital, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On the hitting side, Kate Drynan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since April 4th. Ali Miller was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Great Falls has already played their next match, a 7-2 loss against Helena on the 29th. As for Capital, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Russell on the 29th.
