Baseball Recap: Allen Park's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Allen Park waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Salem Rocks. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 4-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Matthew Lieb tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jack Labiak was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Valdovinos-Plank, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Allen Park pushed their record up to 17-8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16-1.

Allen Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rocks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
