Basketball Recap: Peach County Starts off Right with Win over Veterans + How To Watch

Peach County took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They strolled past the Veterans Warhawks with points to spare, taking the game 69-50. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 68-58 loss the last time these two teams met.

Peach County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rowan Woodrich, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 boards. Those 22 points gave Woodrich a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Javon Mike, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists.

Veterans' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaivyon Dawson, who went 8-for-17 to rack up 22 points and five rebounds. Dawson is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 43% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cordell Broadnax, who posted eight points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peach County is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Northside at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Veterans, they will face off against Tift County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
