Football Recap: William Jones Key Part of Team Effort in Saints Win + How To Watch

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Briarcrest Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Christian Brothers Purple Wave by a score of 24-17. For the Saints, this counts as revenge for the 24-7 victory the Purple Wave walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Briarcrest Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was William Jones out in front who picked up 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jones is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Tucker, who rushed for 49 yards and one score.

Although Christian Brothers took the loss, they still got scores from William Mason and Sebastian Renderos.

Briarcrest Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.8 points over those games. As for Christian Brothers, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Briarcrest Christian has already played their next game, a 34-31 defeat against Brentwood Academy on the 10th. As for Christian Brothers, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lipscomb Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
