Basketball Game Preview: Wingate Generals vs. Tilden Blue Devils

Wingate and Tilden are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wingate has three straight victories, Tilden has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Wingate was able to grind out a solid win over Brooklyn Prospect, taking the game 71-58. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Green Knights are ranked 416th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Tilden might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Prospect Heights an easy 71-47 victory.

Wingate pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Tilden, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything came up roses for Wingate against Tilden in their previous meeting back in November, as the squad secured an 82-26 victory. Will Wingate repeat their success, or does Tilden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
