Baseball Recap: Concord Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lee Park Prep last Tuesday, Concord Academy came back down to earth. Concord Academy fell just short of SouthLake Christian Academy by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against SouthLake Christian Academy since on Thursday.

Concord Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Hatley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hatley has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Concord Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. SouthLake Christian Academy's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Concord Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gaston Day at 4:30 p.m. on March 31st. SouthLake Christian Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Westminster Catawba Christian at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
