Basketball Recap: Morgan Township Comes Up Short

Morgan Township was the 56-54 winner over North Judson-San Pierre when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Morgan Township Cherokees took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays on Tuesday. The loss leaves the Cherokees without a win on the season.

When it comes to explaining why Morgan Township lost, don't look at Brady Walters. Despite the final result, he posted ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those ten points gave Walters a new career-high. Aidan Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Morgan Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Morgan Township's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North Judson-San Pierre, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan Township will head out to face off against Hebron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hebron is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they will venture away from home to square off against Knox on Friday. North Judson-San Pierre is facing Knox at the right time seeing as Knox is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
