League recap: Dunellen first in Greater Middlesex - Gold at 22-3

First place in the league belongs to Dunellen, which has compiled a 22-3 overall record to go with its 14-0 league record. Highland Park is in second place, three games behind with an 11-3 record in league play.

With one league losses this week, more than any other team in Greater Middlesex - Gold, East Brunswick Vo-Tech saw its position in the standings drop.

The Destroyers boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. Dunellen's pitchers have been charged with only 111 hits and have struck out 173 batters. Casey Wenzel is tops on the staff with 65 Ks.

Mike Demaria had four hits in four at bats in Dunellen's 8-5 victory over Belvidere on Wednesday. He rounded out his day with zero runs batted in and two runs scored.
