Soccer Game Preview: Kingwood Park vs. Pasadena

The Kingwood Park Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Pasadena Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Kingwood Park is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Kingwood Park gave up the first goal last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Huntsville 2-1. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Hornets are ranked 593rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pasadena kept a clean sheet against Splendora on Friday. They skirted past the Wildcats 1-0.

Kingwood Park's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Pasadena, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Kingwood Park came up short against Pasadena in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Kingwood Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
