Cass City has gone a perfect 10-0 against Caro recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Red Hawks will head out to take on the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between Cass City and Brown City, and Cass City kept the tradition alive. The Red Hawks put the hurt on the Green Devils with a sharp 6-0 win on Monday. The Red Hawks haven't had any issues with the Green Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Hayden Anthes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Anthes was also solid in the batter's box, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Anthony, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Caro took on Ubly on Monday. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bearcats 5-4. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Olyver Downing was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
Cass City's record now sits at 10-6. As for Caro, their record is now 11-7.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cass City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Caro struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cass City took their victory against Caro when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 20-9 score. Will the Red Hawks repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
