Baseball Recap: West Liberty-Salem Comes Up Short

West Liberty-Salem was the 3-2 winner over Madison Plains when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jeremiah Johnson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

West Liberty-Salem's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Madison Plains, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Liberty-Salem will welcome Fairbanks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison Plains, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Greeneview at 5:00 p.m. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
