Flag Football Game Preview: Whitewater Wildcats vs. Howard Huskies

The Whitewater Wildcats will face off against the Howard Huskies at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Howard took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Whitewater, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Whitewater didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Griffin, but they still walked away with a 19-13 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Bears are ranked 103rd).

The critical scores for Whitewater came from Madyson Rhone, Parker Sopp, and Lynn Thompson.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Whitewater's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Julia Hudson.

Meanwhile, Howard fell victim to Southwest and their airtight defense on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-0 to the Patriots, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Whitewater pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.3 points on average this season. As for Howard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
