Preview: Wilson Central Wildcats vs. Lebanon Blue Devils
The Wilson Central Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lebanon Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Central is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Wilson Central suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 two weeks ago. They were the victim of a tough 68-46 defeat at the hands of Cookeville. While losing is never fun, Wilson Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Cookeville is ranked 12th).
Meanwhile, even though Smyrna scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, Lebanon still came out on top. Lebanon walked away with a 68-55 victory over Smyrna.
Wilson Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Lebanon, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Things could have been worse for Wilson Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-36 loss to Lebanon in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Wilson Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
