Brett Huffman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Delphi Community: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Levi Coghill, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Xaine Tessier was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Delphi Community hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pioneer challenged Bremen on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 11-4 to the Lions. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.
Pioneer saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Weldy, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Delphi Community's record now sits at 4-6. As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-6.
Delphi Community beat Pioneer 11-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Oracles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
