Softball Recap: Indiana School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

Indiana School for the Deaf dropped their record down to 4-10 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Bethesda Christian Patriots, falling 20-1. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Deaf Hoosiers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Bethesda Christian, they moved to 10-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Bethesda Christian's part, Annah Heath made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Heath has posted over her last 11 matchups. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Bethesda Christian got a massive performance out of Hana Henry, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Henry a new career-high. Makaleigh Brann was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Indiana School for the Deaf will head out on the road to face off against Herron at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bethesda Christian has already played their next contest (against Park Tudor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
