Recap: Milken Wildcats vs. Southlands Christian Eagles
The Milken Wildcats had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They breezed by Southlands Christian at home to the tune of 62-28. The result was nothing new for Milken, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Milken got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Connor Klein out in front who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards. Gavin Vogel was another key contributor, throwing for 150 yards and three touchdowns.
Milken's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Southlands Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Milken will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Malibu at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Malibu is ranked 47th, while Milken is ranked 33rd). Southlands Christian is on the road again on November 3rd and play against California School for the Deaf-Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. California School for the Deaf-Riverside will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
