 Calumet had to start their season on the road  on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Wright Red Devils by a score of  10-8. The  loss means Calumet is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
 For Wright's part,  Brenden McCullough made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  4.2 innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. McCullough was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Ethan Gallo was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Landon Buerger, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Wright is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matches,  which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record  this season.
 Coincidentally, Calumet and Wright will both be playing Houghton the next time they take the field. Wright will  host Houghton at 3:00  p.m.  on Monday, while Calumet will  host them  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
