Volleyball Game Preview: Hoover Cardinals vs. Kearny Komets + How To Watch

The Hoover Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Kearny Komets at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Kearny will be up against a hot Hoover squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Cardinals blew past Logan Memorial Education Campus 3-0 on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20, 25-13.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kearny, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Crawford with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. The Komets not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 19th (when they won 3-0).

Kearny never let Crawford on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-15, 25-20.

Hoover better keep an eye on Jade Rabon. She was instrumental in Kearny's win, getting nine aces. Those nine aces gave Rabon a new career-high.

Kearny was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 26 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Hoover's record is now 6-11. As for Kearny, their record now sits at 3-17.

Hoover came up short against Kearny in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
