Soccer Recap: Grant Union Comes Up Short

If Grant Union was riding high fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Four Rivers last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Prospectors came up short against the Nyssa Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Nyssa this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 back in August.

Grant Union has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Nyssa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Grant Union is set to square off against their familiar foe McLoughlin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Nyssa will face off against rival Irrigon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
