Baseball Recap: Denmark Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jefferson, Denmark was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Marinette Marines. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Marines back in April, they had to take a 8-3 loss.

Cade Delarwelle made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Peterson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

Denmark's record now sits at 14-5. As for Marinette, they moved to 9-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Denmark and Marinette should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 99th) will meet Southern Door (ranked 349th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Marinette will challenge Luxemburg-Casco at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (94 vs. 202).
