Basketball Recap: Miami Springs Comes Up Short

Miami Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 59-46 to the North Miami Beach Chargers. If the Golden Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 71-53 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

North Miami Beach's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mateo Zamora led the charge by going 5 for 8 on his way to 19 points. Jephte Noel was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Miami Springs now has a losing record at 4-5. As for North Miami Beach, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Miami Springs will be taking part in a tournament against Coral Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Miami Beach, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Monroe at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Monroe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.
