Volleyball Recap: Providence Academy Takes a Loss

Providence Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Rogers Royals.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-17.

Providence Academy's offense was headlined by Peyton Grande and Mallory Grande, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Aubrey Miller and her nine assists. Finally, Lauren Tennison kept Providence Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Rogers got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Hoyt out in front who had three digs and two aces. That's the most aces Hoyt has posted over her last six matches.

Providence Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Rogers, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Providence Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Southwest Christian on the 10th. As for Rogers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Wayzata on the 11th.
