Basketball Recap: Javion Sanders' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dooly County over Perry

Dooly County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 72-57 bruising from the Perry Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-59 last Saturday.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javion Sanders, who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Sean Sallette, who posted 11 points.

Sanders wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Dooly County was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Dooly County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Perry, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dooly County will venture away from home to face off against Macon County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Macon County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Dooly County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Perry, they will head out to square off against Rutland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
