Softball Game Preview: Addison Bulldogs vs. Winston County Yellowjackets

The Addison Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Winston County Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Addison has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Winston County will arrive with eight straight victories.

On Tuesday, Addison didn't have quite enough to beat Meek and fell 9-8.

Meanwhile, Winston County had just enough and edged out Brilliant 12-10 on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Jesalyn Dotson, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. A.J. SUTHERLAND was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Winston County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in eight consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Winston County pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Addison, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

Addison couldn't quite get it done against Winston County in their previous matchup last Monday as they fell 16-12. Can Addison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
