Football Recap: Veritas Academy Starts Season with Win Against Giddings Lonestar Southeast

Veritas Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Giddings Lonestar Southeast Mustangs 54-6. With Veritas Academy ahead 54-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Veritas Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jed Fuller, who picked up 109 receiving yards and two TDs. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Fuller a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Bo Touba, who rushed for 24 yards and three touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Veritas Academy is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Hill Country Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Giddings Lonestar Southeast, they will challenge Austin Royals HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
