Devine waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Somerset Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warhorses / Arabians also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 16-25, 25-17.
Devine got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cami Carroll out in front who had 18 digs and two aces. Carroll is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Kynedie Cruz was another key player, getting 21 assists and 11 digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Devine was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August.
Alanah Casey and Izabella Sanchez certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Casey had 13 digs, while Sanchez had ten digs and one assist. Candice Rios also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Devine's record is now 18-15. As for Somerset, they dropped their record down to 11-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Coincidentally, Devine and Somerset will both be playing Pearsall the next time they take the court. The Warhorses / Arabians will head out to face the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
