Soccer Game Preview: Penn Yan Academy vs. Midlakes

The Penn Yan Academy Mustangs will square off against the Midlakes Screaming Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Penn Yan Academy will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Wayne, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Mustangs won by a goal and slipped past the Eagles 2-1. That's two games straight that Penn Yan Academy have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Midlakes kept a clean sheet against Wayland-Cohocton on Tuesday. They beat the Eagles by a goal, winning 1-0.

The win made it two in a row for Penn Yan Academy and bumps their season record up to 10-2. As for Midlakes, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9-2.

Everything went Penn Yan Academy's way against Midlakes in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Penn Yan Academy made off with a 4-0 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Screaming Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
