Basketball Recap: Island Coast Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lemon Bay

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Island Coast walked away with it. They took down the Lemon Bay Manta Rays 62-46 on Wednesday. The Gators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Manta Rays, too.

It was another big night for Jose Bido, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Izaiah Bacchus was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Lemon Bay had strong showings from Luke Brown, who went 7 for 17 to rack up 16 points and five rebounds, and Jagger Gould, who posted seven points and nine boards. Those nine boards gave Gould a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caden Spade, who scored six points.

The win (which was Island Coast's fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points over those games. As for Lemon Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

Island Coast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-46 victory against LaBelle on the 7th. Lemon Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
